I'm curious if there is any software to make the GPU think the cable has been unplugged and then plugged back in without having to physically do it each time? Is there a way to force Windows to re-establish the connection? I've tried the built-in detect monitor function which has no effect. Here you can adjust the size of text, apps, and other items and also change.

The same happens in reverse, when switching back to the monitor the resolution is 1080p and under the display settings (both in the standard Windows settings and Nvidia Control Panel), the Sony TV is still shown as the monitor.
